WHAT WE do
Design Consultation
Whether you know exactly what you want or are looking for suggestions, we think you will find it very easy to work with us. Jenny Watkins and David Marks have the experience to make the process simple and guarantee that you get exactly what you are looking for.
Custom Wood
We offer a wide variety of frames in multiple hardwoods. Our spline-joined corners are strong and beautiful. We have a large selection of standard profiles but we are happy to mill to your exact specifications as well.
Custom Finishing
All of our finishes are applied by hand in our state-of-the-art spray booth. We took special care in the planning and design of our new space to guarantee that the environmental impact of our finishing department was minimal. Our booth is OSHA approved, EPA permitted and a thing of beauty, the finishes that come out of it are as well. Our skilled finishers can match or create just about any finish you can imagine.
Matting, Hinging, Mounting
We use only museum standard archival methods and materials. Our hinges are carefully chosen, hand-torn, Japanese paper hinges and we cook fresh wheat starch paste every morning. Pastel traps, 3-D objects, silk mats, hinging onto lifts, photo corners, textiles sewn onto custom mounts; we have extensive experience with fine art in a complete range of media and sizes.
Gold Leafing
Our Genuine Gold Leaf finishes are hand applied in the traditional, time-honored water-gilding process with a wide range of contemporary and period mouldings and finishes.
Free Pickup And Delivery
Our truck is staffed by experienced art handlers, all contents are insured door-to-door, and pick up and delivery in Boston, Brooklyn, L.I.C., and Manhattan are free of charge.
